Mr. Coulter originally joined JBG in 1986. In 2017, JBG merged with a division of Vornado and formed JBG Smith. He is the Chief Development Officer and is a member of the Executive Committee and Investment Committee. Mr. Coulter has over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry. During his tenure he has focused primarily on managing pre-development and development activities as well as on other value creation strategies for existing properties. With the sale of a significant portion of JBG’s commercial portfolio and two operating companies to a public real estate company in 1998, Mr. Coulter served as a Managing Director of the mid-Atlantic region of the acquiring company for 14 months. He returned to JBG in 1999. He is a past Board Member and President of Rosslyn Renaissance; former Board Member of the District of Columbia Building Industry Association; a founding member of the Washington Downtown Business Improvement District; a founding member of the Rosslyn Business Improvement District; and a past president of the Real Estate Group. He is also a past Trustee of The St. Albans School for Boys. He received his Bachelor of Arts, Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers College and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
