Jack Ryan is CEO and Co-Founder of REX. REX is the digital alternative to the residential real estate agent. REX does everything the traditional agent does but replaces much of the activities with data. REX uses big data, artificial intelligence and machine learning to sell homes for 2%, rather than the traditional 6%, with a better customer experience and faster closings. With easier transactions at a fraction of the cost, REX is disrupting the $1.5 trillion residential real estate industry.
Prior to launching REX in 2015, Mr. Ryan built a media company, focusing on electronic and physical delivery of hyper-local news. Within seven years, the company grew to 170,000 circulation in physical form and became Illinois’ third largest media company. The Company has received over 100 awards for excellence in journalism, 50 at the national level. In September 2008, Jack Ryan received “Entrepreneur of the Year: Early Stage Company” award from Business Ledger Magazine.
Prior to launching 22nd Century Media, Mr. Ryan was a Teacher at Hales Franciscan, a private parochial High School on the South Side of Chicago. The Student population is 100% African American, with most student recipients of federal assistance. Mr. Ryan taught English literature, U.S. History, Introduction to Law, and College Entrance Exam Preparation. 100% of seniors were accepted to college each year of Mr. Ryan’s tenure. Prior to joining Hales Franciscan High School, Mr. Ryan was a partner at Goldman Sachs & Co., Mr. Ryan was responsible for developing new relationships, managing major existing relationships, identifying new business opportunities in the Midwest, as well as managing the Midwest banking team.
Mr. Ryan was able to reach the highest market share in the firm’s history in the twelve state Midwest region, as defined by deal volume, paid fees, and Greenwich Survey, in each of the last three years. Mr. Ryan helped recruit and mentor talent to further grow Goldman’s substantial Midwest presence. Mr. Ryan was a member of the Board of Managers of Print Media LLC, a $2 billion private company owned by private equity firm. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Pages Jeunes, a French public company with a $2 billion capitalization; Tatum LLC, Company, which was sold to Spherion; K12.com, which went public; FirstHealth, which was a publicly-traded company and then sold to Coventry for $2 billion; and Turtle Wax.
Mr. Ryan received his Bachelor of Arts, Government, summa cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1981, his Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, and his Juris Doctor, with Honors from Harvard Law School in 1985. He has been a guest on Fox News, Maria Bartiromo show, CNBC Business, and many other radio, television and print publications.
