Yamal Yidios is the CEO of Ytech. Under his leadership, Ytech has become one of the largest privately held real estate companies in Miami in terms of aggregate asset value. Ytech has invested in, developed and redeveloped more than 7,000 apartments, plus single-family home subdivisions, retail, and class A and B office projects in 25 cities, an effort involving more than $1.4 billion in capital and 12 million square feet in space. At present, Ytech has a pipeline of more than $1 billion in luxury condominiums, office properties and mixed-use projects across the southeastern United States.

As CEO, Mr. Yidios is responsible for the company’s strategic direction, pursuit of new development opportunities, growth to 150 employees, and overall management. He provides Ytech with proper resources for acquisition and development, including all capital requirements and activities across all business platforms. Mr. Yidios applies experience gained at national real estate development firms and global engineering companies. Previously, he was recognized for his work as project manager of the luxury condominium twin tower complex Everglades on the Bay in Miami. In his role as project engineer for a global engineering company, projects included The Villages, a master planned community in central Florida with 56,268 homes.

Mr. Yidios is a third-generation civil engineer and real estate developer who was born in Cartagena, Colombia. He played NCAA tennis at Stetson University, where he earned a minor in applied physics and financial mathematics. He graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in engineering with a focus on real estate development and construction management from the University of Florida. The university named Yamal the Engineering Scholar of the Year, distinguishing him from several thousand graduating engineering students and making him the first Hispanic student to receive the award in the school’s history. At Harvard Business School, he completed the executive master’s program for owner/president management.

 He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the Harvard Alumni Real Estate Board. He was selected by Forbes magazine to join its prestigious Real Estate Council, where along with other prominent national real estate leaders he brings insights and perspectives on industry issues. He also is a member of YPO, the leadership organization of chief executives.

Over the years, he has served on the board of trustees of several charitable organizations, including the Coral Gables Museum. He gives time and resources to Chapman Partnership, which provides shelter and services for the homeless. He founded the Ytech Cares Fund, which distributes $1 million annually to provide rent-free housing to deserving underserved families residing at Ytech multi-family communities. In addition, he focuses philanthropic efforts on educational organizations that help low-income children in his native Colombia.
