Ameel is a Co-Founder and Principal of Si Advisers LLP (“Si-Ad”) and OP Capital Management (“OPC”) – long term investment vehicles with over $200m of assets under management, and investments in North America, Europe, and Africa.

Ameel was previously a Principal at Helios Investment Partners (“Helios”) – the largest Africa focused private equity firm with investments in over 30 African countries. Ameel started his career in investment banking and private equity between New York and Toronto.

Ameel holds a dual degree in Chemical Engineering and Economics from Queen’s University (Canada) where he graduated as the top student, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

He currently serves on the boards of Wananchi Group Holdings (East African fibre to the home business), Acorn Group (African youth housing business), AHL Venture Partners (impact investing fund backed by the Adolf H. Lundin Charitable Foundation), the Harvard Alumni Real Estate Board, and is a member of the Contemporary and Modern Middle Eastern Art Acquisitions Committee (“CaMMEA”) at the British Museum.

Ameel continues to be an adviser to Helios, in addition to strategic advisory roles with Delfina Foundation, Innovation Partners Africa, the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development, and the Aga Khan National Council for the United Kingdom.
