Doug Lee

Mr. Lee is the Managing Member of Storage Ventures LLC, a real estate investment management platform which acquires and operates storage-related facilities, primarily in attractive markets in the Eastern U.S. Mr. Lee has over 30 years of experience in real estate investment and capital markets. Prior to founding Storage Ventures, Mr. Lee cofounded Brightstone Capital Partners. With $500 million of committed capital, Brightstone was founded as a “merchant bank” to acquire and warehouse investments prior to offering interests to co-investors on a deal-by-deal basis.Brightstone recently successfully exited its signature investment, the $400 million acquisition of Lantana Media Campus in Santa Monica, CA, generating profit of over $100 million for its investors. Prior to co-founding Brightstone, Mr. Lee served as Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets for Metropolitan Real Estate, a $2.8 billion private equity firm. While there, Mr. Lee led the sale of the firm to the Carlyle Group. Prior to joining Metropolitan, Mr. Lee served as Managing Director and COO for the UBS Real Estate Investment Bank and Vice President for Goldman Sachs Real Estate Investment Banking where he led transaction activity aggregating over $63 billion, including private equity fundraising of approximately $6 billion.

Mr. Lee is a member of the Harvard Alumni Real Estate Board, the U.S. Self Storage Association and the Northeast Self Storage Association.

Mr. Lee received a BA in Architecture from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
