Sophia Zhang is the founder and managing director of SOZA Architecture, a Boston-based studio working across luxury residential design, multifamily development, and real estate development advisory. She is a Massachusetts-licensed architect and LEED AP BD+C, with training from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and prior experience at William Rawn Associates.
Sophia leads SOZA's work as prime design professional on multifamily projects across greater Boston, currently serving in that role on a 133-unit condominium development in Peabody and a 60-unit Chapter 40B rental project in Wakefield. Her practice sits at the intersection of design and development, bringing an architect's eye to the financial and strategic questions that shape a project's success, from site feasibility through construction documentation.
Beyond her studio work, Sophia is a WBE-certified business owner and a vocal advocate for design quality in an industry she sees as too often settling for generic solutions. She writes and speaks publicly about architecture and design criticism, building a following across social platforms where she shares her perspective on what makes buildings, and the people who commission them, worth taking seriously.
