Chad F. Sorensen is Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer with CHMWarnick, the leading provider of hotel asset management and owner advisory services.
With over 25 years of experience in hospitality real estate within asset management, advisory services, and leading hospitality organizations, he has become an industry leader in providing best-in-class service for clients ranging from sovereign wealth funds through high net-worth individuals.
Chad is Chair Emeritus and current Membership Chair of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants (“ISHC”), an invitation-only society comprised of prominent hospitality consultants from around the world. He serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Hospitality Asset Managers Association (“HAMA”), the preeminent organization of professionals responsible for proactively increasing asset values on behalf of hotel owners worldwide. He is one of the first twenty-five designees of the coveted Certified Hotel Asset Manager (“CHAM”) globally.
His commitment to advocating for the hospitality asset management discipline and teaching the future generations is second to none. Chad sits on the Michigan State University Real Estate Investment Management Advisory Committee, the Boston University Real Estate Advisory Council and is a regular lecturer on hospitality asset management. He is a staple as a speaker at leading hospitality conferences and has Co-Chaired three editions of the preeminent publication on capital spending in hotel real estate, ISHC CapEx: A Study of Capital Expenditures in the Hotel Industry.
He is an alum of the Harvard Business School Program for Leadership Development, holds a Master of Business Administration degree, with a dual emphasis in Finance and Management, from The University of Illinois Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management from Iowa State University.
