David Himmel is a Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer at Jamestown, a global real estate investment and management company known for transforming spaces into innovation hubs and community centers. Jamestown is known for their adaptive reuse projects including Chelsea Market in New York, Industry City in Brooklyn, Ponce City Market in Atlanta, and Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco.

Mr. Himmel oversees the day-to-day management and execution of the company’s Real Estate Services, including Development & Construction, Leasing, Creative & Marketing, Tech & Innovation, and Property Management. In this role he is responsible for the day-to-day management of these departments and their execution within Jamestown’s portfolio. Since joining Jamestown in 2014, he has helped oversee the company’s growth from $6 billion to $13 billion in assets under management, with properties and teams now operating across three continents. 

Mr. Himmel graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010 with distinction and from Harvard Business School in 2014. As a student at Harvard Business School, Mr. Himmel co-founded the Brattle Park Group, a real estate investment company focused on mobile home parks. He serves on the Harvard Alumni Real Estate Board, and the Covenant House Real Estate Executive Committee, and is a member of the Partnership for New York City’s 2022 class of David Rockefeller Fellows.
