David Himmel is the Founder and Managing Partner of Kinwood Partners, a New York City-based real estate investment and development firm.

Kinwood’s projects include Gansevoort Square in the Meatpacking District, which it is developing in partnership with Douglaston Development. The project will deliver 590 apartments, retail, and new public open space, alongside an expansion of the Whitney Museum of American Art and a maintenance and operations center for the High Line.

Previously, David was Chief Operating Officer of Jamestown, a global real estate investment and management firm, where he served on the Executive Committee. During his leadership from 2014 to 2024, Jamestown's assets under management grew from $6 billion to $13 billion, with a portfolio spanning 25 million square feet. Jamestown is known for projects including Chelsea Market and Pier 57 in New York, Ponce City Market in Atlanta, and Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco.

In 2018, David helped launch the West Side Community Fund, which supports organizations working to build a more equitable West Side of Manhattan and has since awarded more than 110 grants to 70 local organizations. He serves on the board of Commonpoint, one of New York City’s largest social-service nonprofits, reaching more than 100,000 New Yorkers annually across 90 locations. In 2022, David was selected as a David Rockefeller Fellow by the Partnership for New York City, which brings together business leaders to advance the city’s economic and civic priorities. David is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Business School.
