Ms. Hewitt founded Cheshire Group, a real estate development and investment firm that has given her expertise in all asset classes and throughout the capital stack. Her firm created an innovative approach to restructuring coop debt; invested in and repositioned rental and for sale properties throughout the NY metro region; and completed complex renovations and condominium conversions. Cheshire’s advisory work has included the entitlement and lease negotiation for the New York Islanders’ $1.5 billion Belmont Park Sports and Entertainment project.
Trinity Church Wall Street, one of the nation’s oldest and largest philanthropic institutions, has an endowment in excess of $7 billion and operations throughout the globe. Ms. Hewitt currently co-chairs the organization, which has been through an active and transformative period, moving from an operating company managing 6 million square feet of office buildings to an asset management model through a joint venture with a sovereign wealth fund; managing a newly-diversified endowment with a securities portfolio of $3 billion; and vastly increasing the scope of grant-making.
Ms. Hewitt’s previous board service includes Grace Church School, Habitat for Humanity NYC, and The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, NY. She is a member of WX, ULI, and is a past president of The Association of Real Estate Women (now CREW).
Ms. Hewitt holds AB and MBA degrees from Harvard. She lives in New York City and Sag Harbor.
